Getting there

By Air

Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport (IATA: BEG) is the primary international airport in Serbia. The airport is situated 12 km west of central Belgrade, about 100 km north-east of Petnica Science Center.  Transfer from Belgrade to Petnica Science Center will be arranged by the meeting organizers. The national flag carrier and largest airline of Serbia, Air Serbia, uses Belgrade Nikola Tesla as their hub. It is also one of the operating bases for low cost airline Wizz Air, providing low-cost access to European destinations. In total 26 airlines operate flights from/to Belgrade Airport, providing direct flights to over 70 destinations in Europe, Africa and Asia.

By Train

Direct international trains to Belgrade run from Bulgaria (Sofia), Croatia (Zagreb), Czech Republic (Prague), Hungary (Budapest), Macedonia (Skopje), Montenegro (Podgorica, Bar), Russia (Moscow),Slovenia (Ljubljana), Switzerland (Zürich), and Ukraine (Kiev, Lviv). Coming by car, two highways lead towards Belgrade: E-75 from the north and E-70 from the west.

Highways have toll stations. Other main roads are in good conditions. Driving directly to Petnica Science Center most probably bypasses Belgrade - one should follow traffic signs for the town of Valjevo.

Since most of participants will be coming to Belgrade and would need to be taken to Petnica, the SAC has decided to organize transfers to/from Petnica on traveling days. Buses will be leaving Belgrade/Petnica at different times, depending on what time participants will be arriving to the city (pre-registration for transfers will be managed by the SAC and Petnica staff). Upon arrival to Petnica Science Center, participants will register, check-in at the hotel, and join the Get-together Saturday.

Buses to Petnica Science Center will be leaving from Studentski trg in downtown Belgrade on 14 March at 13:00 and 17:30. Participants will be assigned to specific shuttles based on their itinerary.
